Location of the Ortiz Ranch

 

We are located about 140 miles east of Albuquerque, New Mexico (or alternately, about 140 miles west of Amarillo, Texas.) From I-40, take exit 300 at Newkirk. (Newkirk is about 25 miles east of Santa Rosa, and about 30 miles west of Tucumcari.) Travel north on State Road 129 toward Conchas Dam for 5 ½ miles (watch the mile markers, and drive ½ mile past marker 5.) As you approach the ranch, you will see a steel Quonset-hut-style barn on the left-hand side of the road (west side of 129.) Turn left on the road leading to the barn, and you will be here.
