Homemade “Kahlua”

This is, as you can see, SO SIMPLE. We usually make a batch over the holidays and give small gifts in salad dressing bottles (the decorative-looking ones).

Boil together: 1 qt. water, 4 oz. Instant Folgers coffee, 2 oz. vanilla, 3 ½ C. sugar.

Remove from heat. Stir in: EITHER 1 pt. Everclear and 1 pt. Water, OR 1 qt. (cheap) vodka.

Cool. Bottle. Wait a week or more before serving (although people have been known to drink it earlier.)
