Spiced Nuts

1 T. butter or margarine

1 slightly beaten egg white

2 cups unroasted walnuts or pecans

1 cup sugar, 1 ½ t. cinnamon, 1 t. nutmeg, 1 t. allspice or ground cloves

 

Preheat oven to 300°. Stir butter into egg white. Combine with nuts and stir well. Mix sugar and spices and add to nut mixture. Arrange coated nuts in a shallow baking pan. Bake 15-20 minutes or till lightly browned. Remove from oven. Stir gently to separate nuts. Cool, and store in tightly closed container.
